Covers
Like many people, I was greatly influenced by feelings of personal resonance with the songs, melodies, and words of Bob Dylan, especially during my younger years. I wanted to share a couple of low-fi covers I recorded one afternoon a few years ago when I was sick, because it’s one of my favorite songplay frames, to take a beloved piece and do it in your own way.
My invitation to you: record a quick-and-dirty cover of a song you love, making at least one change, spin, or interpretation that makes it your own: replace a lyric, alter the melody, add some back ups, change the mood, etc.
